Make Us Stay 03:57
Make Us Stay *Chorus* Who's gonna find us a good home And where will we rest from the road Oh my darlin’, we will grow us a garden And it will make us stay, it will make us stay Oh my dear, it’s a muggy night And I’m so uptight This tired, scratchy feeling is keeping my up keeping me up, then bringing me down I’ve lost all my sense When did it all begin It creeps up slowly until the end Sometimes life happens that way *Chorus* Forgetting how to breathe And over stepping the stream But dive in that water and you may understand Not much goes according to plan *Chorus*
2.
Oh get this weight of the world off my shoulders I know the fate of this world don’t rest on me but that don’t help cause it’s a lie, you see I know the shape of this world is formed by every hand that touches it I know the hate in this world ain’t doing nothin but bringing us on down… Law of nature, law of numbers, whatcha doin today. Law of nature, law of numbers, we don’t have any say Law of nature, law of numbers, none of this is to stay Law of nature, law of numbers, I know why…. people pray Oh let the might of this world into my body can’t shake the fright that this world is doomed to fail oh that’s the truth, I can’t just let it be I was born to fight for this world and all its pleasures We should have the right in this world to feelin safe and living free…
3.
Fall With Me 03:49
Fall With Me I don’t know, why I can’t see The forest for the trees, can somebody tell me The reason for misery, I’m melancholy *Chorus* Won’t you fall with me Everyone loves company When I feel, feel it bleed Come and take a fall with me If you need a minute, digest your fear and admit it Growth thrives with space between, but growing pains ache me To forgive ones choice to sink in a flash flood thats passing *Chorus* I’ll take my worried mind down the hatch more than twice A long night with no sleep, morning’s re-grasping It’s been real hard to conceive the reasons for asking *Chorus*
4.
Weary Head 03:21
Weary Head The road we walk is long, my love, I cannot see the end I long to rest my weary head, stay for my heart to mend, stay for my heart to mend The seven seas we’ve seen, my love, and cities by the score I long to rest my weary head, and wander round no more, and wander round no more They tell me that this life I live may lead to wealth or fame, but I long to rest my weary head where they already know my name, where they already know my name

Break It Off 04:04
Break It Off- In the rubix of life, in the tetris of the day, sometimes I just can’t care, wanna throw it all away And the days turn to weeks, and the months roll on by with our feet in the mud and our heads in the sky We know that this is good, and we know that love is real, but when nothings working maybe then its time to seal the deal *chorus* Break it off! (break it off) You know that it’s done Shut it down! (shut it down) A new day has begun Wear it out! (wear it out) And put something new on You know its over when its over, Moving on…. ** Sometimes there are things that just cannot be, and we can’t open our lives just waiting to see In life we must learn to get what we need, so tonight I’m stepping out with me heart upon my sleeve. We can give it one last chance, we can give it all we got, but you know there comes a time to start over at the top… ** We want, oh we want, we want its so bad, we keep searching everywhere for this thing that we had. It’s salt in our wounds to keep this dragging on, so tonight I’m stepping out for to sing to you this song We know that this is good, and we know that love is real, but when nothings working, maybe then it’s time to seal the deal…

Waiting for the Rain The farmers crops are all dried out, and all the people in the town are waiting for the rain, waiting for the rain Mama told me to play nice, spent her time swatting flies, waiting for the rain, waiting for the rain Chorus *Hold onto your feathers, gonna have us stormy weather Hold onto your feathers, gonna have us stormy weather* The taxman’s knocking at your door, asking what you can’t afford and you're waiting for the rain, and now he’s waiting for the rain Pa’s got himself a new tool, put me to work, I never went to school, I’m waiting for the rain, and now he’s waiting for the rain *Chorus* I traded off my tramping boots, got me some nice wing-tipped shoes, and I’m waiting for the rain, waiting for the rain The farmers crops are all dried out and all the people in the town are waiting for the rain, waiting for the rain *Chorus*
7.
End of the Day Oh the sound of your voice and the smile on your lips Oh your breath on my neck and your hands on my hips Theres a spark in the air, theres a fire inside There’s a warmth in the bed where the both of us lie *I’m sorry to say I can’t stay, But it’s almost the end of the day* The feel of your chest as you breathe in and out All my fears fly away and I haven’t a doubt That it’s you that I want, it’s your hand I must hold To go stumbling down this long crooked road ** The night slips away and the morning must come And the time that we’ve had will be over and done So drink in this moment, oh fill yourself up For to last till the next time I come fill your cup **
8.
Everyday Blues Oh when it takes all evening, it breaks my heart To know it’s got you cold from the start And it don’t seem to make much difference if I try The everyday blues gonna make you cry *Chorus* Like a flood of rain Pouring through your brain Happens every day It’s the every day blues We spend our days with sad songs in tow By day we carry these blues where ever we go To sing is to let your dreams take flight And like fireflies we shine our best at night ** We take a look to see what we might find But there ain’t much to see and we wonder why When all else has lost reason or rhyme The everyday blues keeps us blind **

Flowers 02:52
I knew a girl with crooked teeth and flowers in her hair She lived a blessed life until it came too much to bear till it came to much to bear I miss her in the morning when she'd sing to start her day we take one step and then the next, there is no other way, oh there is no other way Chorus There is no more that I can do There is no more my friend that I can do for you I knew a boy with smiling eyes, a kiss to stop my heart At least that's how it felt each time we'd spend the night apart oh we'd spend the night apart The weight of all eternity a pressing on my chest The wheels keep going round and round and I can't get no rest oh no I can't get no rest There is no more, oh can't you see there is no more my friend that you can do for me So now gather near to me and listen when I say Each one that you hold dearly oh is bound to go away oh is bound to go away And the song she sang this morning will ring out never more so friends take care of loved ones before they walk through that door before they walk through that door There must be more that I could do There must be more my friend that I could do for you There must be more that I can do There must be more my friend that I can do for you

Overland 04:00
Overland Verse- I was waiting on an eastbound train, thinking about all the plans I made, yesterday Well today’s a new day, so they say but I still think about what drove me away Passive ties that restrict my mind, like a tight rope, I’m on thin ice Yet I keep moving forward It was winter then, it's summer now, seems somehow I never found the outlet I needed to grow Bridge- Now I’m alone, I have time to think about what went wrong Breakdown- Pardon me, I’m not trying to be some dandelion under your willow tree Chorus- If I was a wishing well made of marble stone, all the coins in the world would not keep me from feeling alone* Verse- I looked upon a beautiful scene, telephone poles burning When i made a date with that overland line and bid farewell to the great divide Shivers went down my spine Bridge, breakdown, chorus

Tomorrow 03:40
Tomorrow Oh the sun on your face in the morning All the things through the day I hold dear Oh I like this routine, yes I’ve dreamt it in dreams If you want me, come get me, I’m here All the things that I thought brought me pleasure Don’t delight me when you are not near Tell me what do I do with myself without you If you want me, come get me, I’m here Chorus *And its not quite a need, but more a desire and the coals of my longing will restart the fire Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow* There’s no reason at all for these feelings, So now why am I filled with this fear? Tell me where do I go when I’m feeling so low If you want me, come get me, I’m here *Chorus* So come share of my bounty my darlin Oh I’ll share what I’ve got with you dear Oh but here’s my advice, and I won’t ask you twice, If you want me, come get me, I’m here *Chorus*

about

After years of traveling, collecting stories, tunes, and heartaches, the
Resonant Rogues have come home again to capture their original songs for posterity. Recorded at the renowned Echo Mountain Studios in the band’s home base of Asheville, NC, Here & Gone Again marks a big step for the young band. It’s release coincides with the two year anniversary of the group, which was founded by Keith J. Smith and Sparrow, the songwriters, sweethearts, and creative force behind the Resonant Rogues. Here & Gone Again, like the band that made it, wanders from the streets of New Orleans, to the Balkan region of eastern Europe, meanders through the Hot Clubs of France, then comes back home to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. In addition to the group’s core sound of vocal harmonies, accordion, guitar, fiddle, upright bass, and banjo, the album features special appearances by Je Widenhouse on trumpet (Squirrel Nut Zippers) and Matt Smith on pedal steel guitar (Honeycutters). The Resonant Rogues have created an album that spans genres, decades and continents, with lyrics that hit home and music that will take you far.

The band will tour the east coast of the US in May and Europe throughout the summer of 2015 in support of Here & Gone Again, and to satisfy their adventurous spirits.
